Oncologist
Medical oncologists address the need for further treatment such as chemotherapy. Radiation oncologists become involved if a lumpectomy was performed, and after mastectomy in certain cases.
Step 6
Post-surgical treatment
Chemotherapy can last up to 18 months; radiation begins three weeks after surgery or after the completion of chemotherapy.
